Simborio
@ Simborio
This edifice reminded me of Paco Park-a recreational garden and formerly Manila’s municipal cemetery built by the Dominicans during the Spanish colonial period.
Withstood, through the inexorable flow of time. This tiny chapel erected at the center of Sta. Ana Public Cementery located at Bagong Calzada, Tuktukan,Taguig City was erected in 1700's through forced labor by the cruel spanish friars.
This 12 meters in diameter dome-shaped structure (centerpiece of the said cementery) which was built by the Filipinos during the 18th Century is made of tiles and the walls of stones.
As far as my POV is concern, after the chapel of La Loma Catholic Cemetery (Campo Santo de La Loma) situated at Caloocan, the domed chapel of the Simborio is one of the most spectacular.
